Nikon Coolpix P2 Digital Camera

NikonP2

The Nikon Coolpix P2 digital camera comes along with its twin, the Coolpix P1. The only real difference between these two revolutionary compact digital cameras is the megapixel quality. The P2 has a 5.1 megapixel capacity whereas the P1 will give you 8 megapixels.

This camera pair are the latest in a long line of Coolpix digital cameras whose popularity began with the original Coolpix 900, Nikon’s first “breakthrough” digicam. They redefine the compact digital shooting experience with versatile Wi-Fi capability, excellent imaging performance and an array of advanced features that can even improve images in-camera.

First megapixels increased. Then cameras began to shrink. Next LCDs increased in size while batteries provided just a few more shots. Each new generation of camera saw one additional scene mode or on-camera image enhancement feature. In short, it hasn’t been so interesting. What is needed is a feature that really raises eyebrows and the Nikon Coolpix P2 has it … Wi-Fi access for picture transfers.

The Nikon Coolpix P2 bears a superficial resemblance to the Coolpix 7900, with all automatic controls and an extremely small form factor. But there’s no optical viewfinder and the flash has been repositioned, but the LCD viewer has grown. The Nikon P2 is super compact and very lightweight, with a rugged metal body that should withstand lots of wear and tear.

With the COOLPIX P1 and COOLPIX P2, images can also be corrected in the camera itself. This is due to the incorporation of three unique Nikon features. You can improve images taken with excessive back light or insufficient flash when in Playback mode, using the D-Lighting function — automatically creating a copy of the selected shot, but with enhanced detail and light applied exactly where necessary.
